What is the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP)?
It’s a federally mandated plan addressing all transportation modes that looks out at least 20 years. It is updated every 5 years. Mobility2045 will be a multimodal plan that makes recommendations for road, bus, bike, sidewalk, freight and aviation projects. It will include short and long term strategies.
The Pasco County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is kicking off the 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), called “Mobility 2045: Pasco County’s Transportation Plan,” or Mobility 2045 for short.
Mobility 2045 is a policy document that includes 2 major components:
- The 2045 Needs Plan identifies all the transportation projects that are projected to be needed over the next 20 years based on factors including County policy, demand from growth and community feedback.
- The 2045 Cost Affordable Plan is a prioritized list of the Needs Plan based on current and projected funding available (federal, state and local sources)
What is the schedule?
The long-range planning process will include a comprehensive technical analysis of the current transportation system along with a number of opportunities for you to get involved. Mobility 2045 is being prepared in four phases and will be completed by December 2019
